Best Stopovers on your Car Trip through Ireland Caher Lodge

Ireland is quickly developing a reputation as a golfing destination. Not only does the country boast of many championship courses, several hotels and lodges have their own greens which make excellent use of the country’s natural terrain to create a fun and challenging game for the avid golfer. If you are planning a golfing vacation in Ireland, consider hiring a car. Hiring a car is crucial to making the most of your stay in the country. Not only will you have the freedom to visit the various golf courses and spend as long as you like playing in them, you can also ask your car hire agency to give you a list of other historical and cultural attractions that are accessible by car travel from your chosen accommodations. If you are taking a golfing vacation, consider staying at the Caher Lodge. This luxury 2-storey lodge has its own swimming pool, steam room, full size tennis court and outdoor BBQ area—a perfect place for the family (even those who aren’t golfers). It also boasts of an excellent view of Bantry Bay, Glengarriff Harbour and Hungry Hill. But Caher Lodge’s strongest point is its proximity to premiere golf courses. It lies between the 14th green and the 15th tee at Bantry Bay Golf Club, just 200 metres from the clubhouse. The 18 hole championship course was designed by Christy O'Connor Junior and is one of the most challenging golf course in all of Ireland. Caher Lodge has four rooms, each equipped with double beds. Each bedroom has a telephone and a TV/video (with CNN and sports channels). Two of the rooms have walk-out balconies opening to a view of Bantry Bay and Glengarriff Harbour. A linen and towel service is provided. A drying room is available for storage and drying of your sports/activity gear.
